Staff Development and training has always been within the SportMalta policy and commitments. SportMalta on regular basis organizes staff seminars with a variety of topics to enhance staff development on the day to day operations. Our programmes and initiatives are designed to encourage community engagement and support the development of athletic talents.

We are currently seeking Sports Coaches to be employed on part-time basis as from Summer on the Move 2025 which starts in July 2025.

Sports Coaches – Position Overview:

A Sports Coach at SportMalta is responsible for the provision of sports activity across various venues which are operated by the sports entity.

Key Responsibilities – Sports Coach:

  • Teach a variety of activities and basic skills
  • Plan, develop and evaluate a sport programme and/or follow programme established by SportMalta;
  • Be able to deliver sessions to children, youths and adults;
  • Be able to perform duties as coordinator if and when requested;
  • Any other duties according to the exigencies of SportMalta.

Qualifications:

The rate applied will be attached to the highest qualification obtained by the candidate:

  • Qualified Physical Education Teacher with 1st Degree or Postgraduate (with permanent local teaching warrant); or
  • Obtained Technical Qualification in the field of Sports or Certification following an examination by an International Body; or Bachelors Degree in Physical Education & Sports;
  • Obtained Technical Qualification (Level 1) in the field of sports as certified by a Local National Sports Organisation; or Diploma is Sports issued by the University of Malta; or Higher Diploma obtained from MCAST;
  • Students reading for a Degree in PE at the University of Malta or MCAST; or completed Certificate in Sports from University of Malta; or completed first year of Advanced Diploma in Sport at MCAST;
  • Obtained MCAST Diploma/Certificate in Sport;

General Requirements:

  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Fluent in Maltese or English Language
  • Must be over 18 years of age
