SportMalta (“SM”), the national entity for sport under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation is seeking to employ a Full-time General Hand to work within SportMalta facilities.

Responsibilities/Duties

â€Ē To clean and disinfect thoroughly the reception area, offices, stairs, resting rooms, windows, furniture, and hallways on a regular basis
â€Ē To ensure that restroom supplies are kept at an adequate level
â€Ē To clean, dust and polish furniture and fittings
â€Ē To sweep floors with brushes or dust control mops and mop floors with wet or damp mops
â€Ē To empty waste bins, transport waste material to designated collection points and ensure that it is hauled away on a scheduled basis
â€Ē To clean debris from pavements and entrances leading to Company’s premises
â€Ē To cultivate plants and flowers in reception areas and other public places
â€Ē To notify the Facility Manager of any items in need of repair including lighting, heating, ventilating equipment, carpets, and walls
â€Ē To keep an adequate stock of cleaning materials and accessories and utilise them as necessary (use steps or ladders)
â€Ē The clean the carpeted areas and “spot” clean carpets
â€Ē To use electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub and clean floors
â€Ē To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, windowsills, external surfaces of cupboards, shelves, and fitments
â€Ē To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, showers, and ceramic wall tiles
â€Ē To undertake wall washing or inside windowpane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension from floor level
â€Ē To clean fans, refrigerators, and other white goods
â€Ē To use all cleaning equipment in an appropriate manner, ensure that it is regularly serviced and keep cleaning equipment, mops, vacuum cleaners, buckets etc. in good condition
â€Ē To ensure a high quality/standard of work and service throughout
â€Ē To perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Skills and Qualifications

â€Ē Experience in similar position will be considered an asset
â€Ē Have good communication skills
â€Ē Must be in good physical condition in order to bend and walk
â€Ē Ready to work individually or in a team

â€Ē School leaving certificate

This position reports to the Facility Manager. Additional duties may be assigned, and this job description may change without notice at the discretion of management.
NB: This role is not necessarily appointed to a specific location and can be asked to perform duties in other complexes, ranges, and buildings with Sport Malta both in Malta and Gozo.
