ÄĶalFar Motor Sports Hub
SportMalta is actively involved in the new Motorsport Hub Project at Hal-Far. This long-awaited project encompasses the complete reconstruction of the existing Quarter mile Drag racing facility, the upgrade of the existing karting track and the construction of a new Motorsport racing circuit track, all built to international standards.
The Drag Strip project is currently at execution stage, with works progressing well on the new racing surface, new concrete impact walls and the required extension to the shut off /braking area. Complementing this, new supplementary facilities such as the control tower, pit-garages and spectator stands are also under construction. These works will enable the facility to achieve the much-desired FIA Homologation that will allow FIA International competitions to be held locally. The Karting track and the Circuit are currently past the Concept stage as the design proposals have been developed in key consultations with world leaders in the field. A Development Planning Application has already been submitted, and the entity is moving forward with the necessary submissions to be able to proceed with the execution, once the development permit is approved.
