The âElevating Sports Management in Malta: Game-Changing Leadershipâ mobility project is a 6-day professional development programme in collaboration with EUPA and Erasmus+, designed to strengthen sports management expertise through hands-on learning, innovation, and collaboration.
Throughout the week between the 13th and 18th of October, SportMaltaâs Managerial team will engage in a series of activities aimed at enhancing leadership, sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusivity in the sports sector.
A central feature of the programme is job shadowing, where participants will observe and learn directly from experienced professionals in sports management, facility operations, and event coordination. This practical experience will deepen their understanding of strategic decision-making and leadership in action.
The programme also includes a Digital Transformation Workshop, focusing on smart booking systems and performance tracking tools to modernise sports administration and improve operational efficiency. Participants will visit sustainable sports venues to explore eco-friendly practices and assess accessibility for persons with disabilities, promoting both inclusivity and environmental responsibility.
A highlight of the week is the European Week of Sport (EWoS) Workshop, facilitated by the Portuguese Ministry of Sport, which will encourage the exchange of best practices and strategies for grassroots sports development across Europe.
To complement these learning experiences, participants will visit a professional sports clubs, gaining first-hand insights into event management, fan engagement, and high-level operations.
By the end of the programme, participants will have developed stronger professional competencies, built international connections, and acquired innovative tools and strategies to support SportMaltaâs ongoing mission to elevate sports management standards and leadership across the island.
