Gozo College Nadur Primary participated in SportMalta School Sports Day 2026 with a special celebration of physical activity, teamwork, and inclusion, guided by the motto âMOVE âĒ UNITE âĒ SHINE!â
Created by the school’s PE teacher, the motto reflected the vision behind the event. MOVE encouraged every child to be active and enjoy movement, UNITE highlighted teamwork and a sense of belonging, while SHINE emphasised giving every pupil the opportunity to participate, feel valued and experience success in their own way.
Inclusion was at the heart of the event, with an emphasis on ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, had the opportunity to take part and celebrate their achievements. The focus went beyond competition, recognising the importance of effort, cooperation, participation, and individual progress.
The activities began with a lively warm-up session accompanied by music, during which pupils followed the PE teacher’s movements. This was followed by eight activity stations, offering students different opportunities to move, participate and challenge themselves.
To conclude the event, Year 6 pupils performed a series of gymnastic movements choreographed to Shakira’s World Cup song. The day ended on an energetic note as pupils joined the PE teacher for a group dance to the Cha Cha Slide, bringing the school community together in a joyful celebration.
Throughout the event, pupils were encouraged to support one another, embrace challenges and celebrate each other’s achievements. Their enthusiasm and willingness to work together highlighted the positive role that physical education and school sport can play in building confidence, friendships, and lifelong healthy habits.
