As part of the European Week of Sport (EWoS) celebrations, Selmun Sports Club organised its second event on Friday, 10th October, continuing to promote the importance of physical activity and community engagement under the #BeActive campaign.
This time, the focus turned to inclusion across generations through an Intergenerational Basketball Activity held at the Selmun Family Park in Mellieħa. The event brought together Selmun SC basketball players and senior citizens from the Active Ageing Centre of Mellieħa for a truly heartwarming and energetic session.
Around thirty senior citizens participated enthusiastically, teaming up with the clubâs U19 and U16 basketball players. The lively session demonstrated that age is no barrier to staying active, the senior participants showcased an inspiring level of energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork, proving that their young spirit remains strong and vibrant. The event beautifully captured the essence of the #BeActive movement, which celebrates sport and physical activity for all, regardless of age or ability.
At the end of this enjoyable morning, participants were presented with SportMalta and European Week of Sport merchandise, a small token of appreciation for their participation and enthusiasm.
Letâs keep inspiring one another to #BeActive â every day, for life!
