Mellieħa Primary School hosted an exciting and action-packed European Schools Sports Day, coordinated by Ms. Elvira Buttigieg and Mr. Michael Micallef. The event was filled with fun activities designed to engage all students and promote physical activity. Each year group took turns rotating through a series of sports stations, where they tackled various challenges while having a great time.
The younger students enjoyed parachute games, racing to remove softballs without touching them, and had fun rolling yoga balls across the yard and running to catch up. Older students participated in football skill stations, dribbling and scoring goals, while also testing their balance in the “Balancing Act,” where they walked with tennis balls on rackets over hurdles, trying not to drop them.
Another favorite activity was “Blast Off,” where students launched rockets and dashed to retrieve them, adding a sense of excitement and competition. Throughout the day, students demonstrated teamwork, learned new skills, and enjoyed friendly competition in a lively outdoor environment.
The event successfully promoted the importance of staying and working together, with every student having a fantastic time while getting plenty of exercise.
