On Friday, 11th October, St Nicholas College â Rabat Primary School participated in the SportMalta European Sports Day. The event was specifically organized for the Year 1 students.
Led by P.E. teacher Mr. Jamie Muscat, a total of 50 students took part in a series of fun and engaging physical activities. Nine different stations were set up, each designed to last about 10 minutes, allowing the students to rotate through and experience a variety of sports and exercises. These stations included an obstacle course, jumping over hurdles, football, basketball, balance beams, balancing a quote on the head, and gymnastics-focused rolling exercises.
The students had the chance to develop and reinforce several important physical skills. These included throwing an object overarm, kicking a ball forward, moving with control and coordination, balancing on one foot, and engaging in interactive games with their peers.
Through this event, the students not only enjoyed themselves but also made meaningful progress towards key learning outcomes. The day promoted both physical development and teamwork, ensuring the students understood the importance of staying active while having fun.
