On Friday, 11th October, Stella Maris College, Secondary School, organized a vibrant sports event during the students’ break. The aim was to encourage participation in both structured and unstructured sports activities, fostering physical activity and enjoyment.
Several engaging activities were conducted during the event. Students took part in a short football match, followed by a “Top Bins” competition that tested their shooting accuracy by aiming at a hoop placed in the top corner of the goal. Handball shooting drills and a game followed, while basketball enthusiasts enjoyed layups, free shots, and a short game. Younger students were introduced to soft archery, while older students practiced standard archery, ensuring an inclusive and fun experience for all age groups.
Sports Council members played a crucial role in setting up the equipment and overseeing the smooth running of activities. Teachers assisted by supervising the various stations and helping students. The event maximized time by keeping equipment use minimal, allowing for seamless transitions between drills and games.
The event, scheduled during break time, allowed students to enjoy physical activity without interrupting their academic day. It was a resounding success, to continue promoting physical activity and sports engagement.
