Pupils at Dun Karm Psaila Primary School in Ħaż-Żebbuġ, part of St Ignatius College, took part in SportMalta School Sports Day on Monday, 19 October 2026, through a programme of physical challenges designed to develop movement skills, encourage participation, and make physical activity enjoyable for everyone.
Approximately 145 students from Year 1, Year 2, Year 5, and the Induction class participated in the activities throughout the day. The programme was organised to accommodate the school’s available space and timetable, ensuring that students could participate safely and enjoy the planned activities.

Under the guidance of the school’s Physical Education teacher, pupils took part in a variety of physical challenges aligned with the Physical Education Learning Outcomes for their respective year groups. The activities included balancing exercises, navigating obstacles, agility games and reaction drills that encouraged students to respond quickly to a moving ball.
The initiative reflects the objectives of SportMalta Schools Sports Day, which encourages schools across Malta and Gozo to celebrate sport and promote the benefits of physical activity within the educational environment. Through activities that combine enjoyment, skill development and inclusion, pupils are encouraged to build confidence, improve their physical abilities, and develop positive habits from an early age.
