ÄĶamrun â On Friday, October 11th, the SportMalta School Sports Day brought together more than 600 eager students from both the Primary and Secondary sectors at Our Lady Immaculate School. The annual event, organized under the theme “Let’s Keep Active,” emphasized the importance of regular physical activity, with a goal to engage every student in movement and exercise throughout the day.
Two separate gyms were set up on campus, one dedicated to Primary students and the other to Secondary students. Each gym featured a specially curated fitness circuit tailored to the specific age groups and their physical abilities. The event followed a structured 12-minute schedule, where each group cycled through a variety of activities. This schedule included 3 minutes for warm-up, 5 minutes of targeted exercises, 4 minutes for transitioning between stations, and finally, 3 minutes for cool-down.
The fitness circuits, which kicked off at 8 a.m. and ran until 1 p.m., were brought to life with the help of flashcards and upbeat music, ensuring that the atmosphere remained energetic and fun. Students enthusiastically participated in the activities, which not only encouraged them to stay active but also helped foster a sense of community and celebration around physical health and sports.
As one of the school’s most anticipated events, the SportMalta School Sports Day has become a beloved tradition. Students eagerly look forward to the day each year, recognizing the value of staying active and its benefits to both their physical and mental well-being.
This successful initiative serves as a testament to the schoolâs commitment to promoting health and fitness, reinforcing the positive impact of regular physical activity on the overall school community.
