Gozo College Ninu Cremona Secondary School celebrated by organising a series of sporting workshops aimed at encouraging students to participate in physical activity, develop their sporting skills, and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle.

Approximately 90â100 students from Years 10 and 11 took part in the activities, which were held during the seventh and eighth lessons following the midday break. The programme offered students the opportunity to participate in football, volleyball, basketball, and tag rugby, providing a varied sporting experience that catered to different interests.

The workshops created an enjoyable environment where students could engage in sport, develop their abilities and strengthen their teamwork and cooperation skills. The activities also provided an opportunity for the Physical Education teachers involved to encourage participation and highlight the importance of regular physical activity among young people.

The afternoon proved enjoyable for students and rewarding for the teachers, reflecting the positive impact that sport can have on student engagement, wellbeing, and school life.

The initiative reflects the objectives of SportMalta School Sports Day, which encourages schools across Malta and Gozo to celebrate sport and promote physical activity as an essential part of students’ everyday lives.
