On Friday, 11th October, St. Ignatius College Patri Indri Schembri Primary School hosted an engaging Mini Sports Day for Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 students. This event was organized to celebrate the SportMalta School Sports Day, which connects schools in promoting physical activity, healthy competition, and sportsmanship. The Mini Sports Day provided a delightful opportunity for students to engage in fun physical challenges while learning the importance of teamwork and fair play.
The day’s activities included a variety of engaging events. First up was the Hoop Beanbag Throw, where students were divided into teams and took turns throwing beanbags into hoops with different point values. This activity encouraged accuracy and teamwork as students cheered each other on. Next was the Obstacle Course Race, where students navigated through an obstacle course before tossing a ball into a bucket for points, promoting perseverance and sportsmanship. Finally, the Racquet Balance Race challenged students to balance a ball on a racquet while racing around a cone, reinforcing balance and control.
Throughout the event, students exhibited a commitment to physical activity and embraced the core values of healthy competition. The Mini Sports Day was a resounding success, energizing students and enhancing their understanding of maintaining an active lifestyle while having fun. As a result of their participation, the school will receive sporting equipment from SportMalta, further enriching the students’ physical education resources. The day not only fostered school spirit but also created invaluable experiences for all involved.
