On Friday, the 13th of October, our school embraced the spirit of SportMalta Schools Sports Day with open arms. Every class, from Kindergarten to the older kids, participated in a variety of activities that celebrated the joy of movement and play. It was a day of fun and physical activity that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.
Kindergarten started their day with a burst of energy, engaging in activities like hoola hoop jumping, color sorting with hoola hoops, and even a game where children hopped into hoola hoops according to their name and the color called. They also had a blast with a parachute and bean bag toss, learning the importance of aim and coordination.
Meanwhile, Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 got to experience the thrill of four traditional Maltese games, rotating through different stations. “It-TiÄĄieÄĄa l-għamja,” “Passju,” “Maktur,” and “Lupu lupu” were the names of the games that kept them entertained and active.
For the older students in Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6, four exciting stations were set up. They practiced their skills in penalty shootouts, improved balance on walking bucket stilts, and honed their coordination and jumping abilities by balancing on semi-spheres, jumping hurdles, and throwing rings into cones. Lastly, they had fun balancing balls on rackets and aiming bean bags into hoops, improving their coordination and precision.
Overall, the SportMalta Schools Sports Day 2023 was a resounding success, promoting physical activity and fun for all students. It’s a reminder that staying active and healthy can be a lot of fun.
