Tarxien Primary School celebrated SportMalta Schools Sports Day 2026 on Wednesday, 21 October, with a full day of sporting activities aimed at promoting physical activity, teamwork, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

Students from Kinder 2 to Year 6 participated enthusiastically in a variety of activities organised across different stations, with challenges adapted to their respective ages and abilities.

The activities included water games, football and hockey shooting, and Catch the Tail, which encouraged pupils to practise their aiming skills, coordination, speed, and agility. The younger children also enjoyed colourful parachute activities, promoting cooperation, group participation, and teamwork through fun and interactive games.

Throughout the day, students demonstrated enthusiasm, good sportsmanship, and a willingness to support one another. The different activities provided opportunities for pupils to develop their physical skills while enjoying the benefits of movement and participation in a positive and stimulating environment.

The event was organised by the school’s PE and RSP teachers, Ms Rhea Sant Hili and Mr Nikolai Gatt, whose dedication and planning contributed to the smooth running and success of the activities.

SportMalta School Sports Day offered the school community an opportunity to celebrate the value of sport beyond competition, highlighting the importance of participation, inclusion, cooperation, and personal development.
