On Friday, 11th October 2024, Maria Regina College in Għargħur hosted the vibrant Sports Malta School Sports Day, focusing on promoting physical activity and introducing students to various sports through fun mini-games and drills. The event was designed for students from Years 3, 4, and 5, with activities centered around handball, football, rugby, and athletics.
The event was carefully planned with four key activity stations to maximise engagement. The four stations included a Football Fun Drill, where students practiced dribbling and shooting for points, an Athletics Obstacle Course focusing on teamwork and endurance, a Hybrid Mini-Game combining rugby and handball to enhance agility, and a Hula Hoop Fun Race to build coordination and mobility.
Despite some challenges, such as limited space for additional stations, the event was a success. All students participated enthusiastically, developing fundamental sports skills while fostering teamwork and friendly competition.
Overall, the day effectively promoted physical activity and made learning sports enjoyable for all participants keeping the spirit alive of the SportMalta School Sports Day.
